Forest Hills White Oak, Quercus alba From a Bill Emory photo

Arbor Day 2012 included dedication of this tree as a Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards’

Landmark Tree. This honor goes to our finest specimens, historic trees that the community nearby knows well. This neighborhood park, full of fine old oaks, originally was a farm.

Mocking Birds, Turkey Vulture, Striped Skunk family, Hognose Skunk (if you see a big, white skunk it is possibly really a hognose, with black underparts, big claws and a long, bare nose. They are powerful diggers and insect/grub eaters. I saw one in my yard.)
